Recently purchased2 spoon knifes .
The knifes appear to well made and using the paddle strop , which I bought at the same time<
was able to bring both knifes to razor sharpness within a few minutes. Seem to be as good as my Mora knives at half the price..
The paddle strop is brilliant and for me indispensable Best tool for sharpening gouges as well as hook knifes.

I'm loving this strop! I was wondering how I'd sharpen curved blades effectively, and this is the answer. I'm new to wood carving but not to wood working. So I know the importance of a sharp blade.So far Beavercraft has not disappointed me yet in the quality of their tools, and this is no exception. I almost hate saying that because I don't want them to raise their prices. But they deserve credit where credit is due and I hope they keep up the great work.This strop is amazing. It does what it's supposed to do and it does it well. If you have never used a strop before it does take a bit of practice, but once you get it down you wont go back to any other method of sharpening your knives.This set up is very well made. The leather is already attached and ready to go. It can also be used with sandpaper for more aggressive sharpening if you need to, and includes the paper to do it. The secret is just don't go so long using your tools that you need to use aggressive sharpening, and don't nick your blades ,)If you have curved blades like gouges and hook knives then give this a shot. If you take the time to learn how to use it you wont be disappointed.

Product is as pictured. I have just one complaint and that is could use a guide on how to properly sharpen the hook knife. Overall good product.
