Our tools are sharpened to a 20° bevel angle, making them ideal for carving soft wood. We do not recommend using them on hard wood, as the fine edge may dull more quickly with tougher materials.

The C14 Bench Carving Knife is built for shaping, smoothing, and working out details right at your workbench (hence the name “bench” knife). With its medium-length blade, it has the right balance of strength and precision—wide enough for steady cuts, yet sharp enough to handle fine shaping and background work.

Made from 1066 high-carbon steel (57–59 HRC) with a Scandi grind, the blade holds its edge well and cuts cleanly through wood. At 2 mm thick, it’s tough enough for consistent use while still allowing controlled slicing and shaving cuts.

The handle, crafted from ash wood and finished with natural linseed oil, feels smooth in the hand and is shaped for comfort during long carving sessions. Its well-proportioned size provides a secure, natural grip for both right- and left-handed carvers.

This knife is a reliable all-around tool for traditional bench carving—perfect for leveling surfaces, refining forms, and reaching tighter spots where larger blades can’t.
